I have a friend that consistently shares inspirational quotes from Maya Angelou on Facebook. I have learned from my awesome friend, to really appreciate her writing and insight. My favorite quote from Maya Angelou is “I’ve learned people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” This quote sums up service very well, it is how we can help people feel. I have a bad soda habit and when I stopped to get a refill on my cup. After paying for the refill and grumbling that my refill had gone up by 25%, inflation suck, I saw three U.S. Quarters with Maya Angelou on the back. My initial thought was to write a thank you note to my friend for being awesome and providing her with the quarters. I taped the note to her door and I felt wonderful the rest of the day. Maya Angelou was right, by thinking of others, the service made me feel which I will never forget.
